- the relevant assessment;
- the information entered;
- the result received; and

Where appropriate, you may exercise your statutory data-protection rights separately from making a general service complaint.

Do not attempt to:
- access another person's account;

CareerIreland may be unable to investigate a complaint adequately where insufficient information is provided.
18. COMPLAINT HANDLING
CareerIreland will seek to consider complaints fairly and proportionately.
Depending on the circumstances, the complaint may be reviewed by an appropriate member of the CareerIreland team.

- review an assessment;
- offer an appropriate service remedy;

20. COMPLAINTS DO NOT GUARANTEE A REFUND
Making a complaint does not automatically entitle a customer to:
- a refund;
- a new consultation;
- a new eligibility assessment;
- compensation;
- rescheduling; or
- another particular remedy.
Any refund or other remedy will be considered under the applicable contractual terms, policies and statutory rights.

CareerIreland cannot overturn or control decisions made by:
- Immigration Service Delivery;

A complaint to CareerIreland cannot replace an official appeal, review or administrative process available through the relevant authority.
22. GOVERNMENT COMPLAINTS
Where a complaint concerns a decision made directly by an Irish Government immigration authority, the customer may need to use the review, appeal or complaint process provided by that authority.
CareerIreland may provide general information about where official information can be found but cannot act as the Government decision-maker.
23. COMPLAINT RESPONSE
CareerIreland will seek to provide a clear response after reviewing the available information.
The response may:

Complex matters may require additional time.

- why you believe the matter remains unresolved; and
- any additional information you believe should be considered.
Where appropriate, the matter may be escalated internally for further review.

Customers remain entitled to exercise applicable:
- consumer rights;
- data-protection rights;
- contractual rights; and
- other statutory remedies.
26. EXTERNAL AUTHORITIES
Depending on the nature of the complaint, an appropriate external authority may be available.
For data-protection matters, this may include the Data Protection Commission.
For consumer matters, customers may also have rights under applicable Irish and European consumer-protection legislation.
The appropriate external body will depend on the subject of the complaint and the applicable law.

This does not prevent a customer from exercising legitimate legal or consumer rights.
30. FALSE OR FRAUDULENT COMPLAINTS
CareerIreland may investigate complaints made in good faith.
Where there is credible evidence that information has been deliberately fabricated or a complaint is being used fraudulently to obtain money, services or another benefit, CareerIreland may take appropriate action.
31. NO RETALIATION
CareerIreland will not prevent a customer from making a genuine complaint or exercising a lawful statutory right because the customer has raised a concern.
